We are a Global Pharmaceutical Company with 80 years of experience
Hovid Berhad (“Hovid”) is a global pharmaceutical company with a history that spans more than 80 years. In the 1940s, the founder, Dr Ho Kai Cheong created and built the first and longest-standing product, Ho Yan Hor Herbal Tea, which is still today a famous household name. In the 1980s, the son of Dr Ho, Mr David Ho, transformed the traditional herbal tea business into a global pharmaceutical company.
Largest Exporter in Malaysia with a Global Sales & Distribution Network
Headquartered in Perak, Malaysia and supported by a multinational workforce of about 1,300 people, Hovid produces more than 400 products in generic drugs, dietary supplements and consumer products. To date, the products are being distributed to more than 50 countries globally. Hovid is the first and largest exporter of generic pharmaceuticals in Malaysia.

With a passion for innovation and commitment to quality, Hovid’s manufacturing plants are PIC/s GMP-certified, its quality standards have been routinely inspected and certified by more than 100 audits by various health authorities around the globe. Hovid has recently received the Australian TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) GMP clearance for its manufacturing plant in Chemor, an additional testimony to the quality of our products.
Hovid also has its research and development (“R&D”) centre that focuses on new product development, drug delivery system, pharmaceutical stability and bioequivalence (“BE”) studies as well as clinical services.
Since the 21st century, Hovid has been in strong expansion mode, in preparation to certify its manufacturing facilities under the pharmaceutical production standards of Europe and the US FDA to ensure better quality, efficacy and safety for its products and services as well as to increase its global footprint.
